Price hikes due to a weak yen, but I suppose it is unavoidable if they want to maintain quality

These sneaky price hikes are pretty tough~
Though it’s still way better than them cutting corners on quality or mixing in shady stuff to keep it cheap, lol (laughs)
It’s part of my bedtime routine so I want to keep doing it

It’s just to protect against exchange rates and shipping costs, people are making too big of a heartwarming story out of it lol

As an insider, defensive measures hit really close to home :joy:

It’s not just raw material imports, but inspection costs for ingredients per lot are quietly creeping up too, which honestly gives me a stomachache~

Even after cutting everywhere we can, there’s a limit, so I feel like price hikes are unavoidable, but from a buyer’s perspective it’s still tough, and every time I worry about what kind of price difference people will actually tolerate :sweat_droplets:

Wait, you test every single batch?! I thought you just measured everything in one go once… If that’s the case, a slightly higher price actually makes sense!

Take it easy, Hanako, you’re romanticizing the testing itself way too much.

Considering the THC residue limit values under the revised law, strictly submitting tests for each lot and attaching a certificate is the bare minimum for sellers. If they aren’t doing that, they can’t even put it on the market in the first place, so it’s no special consideration for safety or anything. It’s just simple legal compliance.

Prices going up because costs increase is normal business talk, but fulfilling a minimum obligation and treating it like something special means you’ve let yourself get too used to business sales pitches.

Dr. Wota is right, but does that mean my allowance is dead!? Lol

Well, compared to the old days when everything was sketchy, it’s way better lol. I don’t want to feel anxious every time I watch the news, and as an amateur, I’m genuinely happy that having things properly inspected and being able to buy safely is becoming the norm.

On the front lines, you know, overseas suppliers are routinely refusing to ship to Japan because they hate submitting that paperwork. What scares me the most is that our options are shrinking, the goods that do get in are skyrocketing in price, and eventually, nobody will be able to afford them.

Finding suppliers is honestly such a struggle~:sweat_droplets: Just finding one with all the paperwork in order is a headache, and if purchase prices go up and we pass that on to customers any further, they’re probably going to walk, so we’re just playing wait-and-see to figure out how much more we can take :joy:

I had no idea there were such tough hurdles before they even make it to store shelves…! But if they’ve gone through that much screening to get here, does that mean even a beginner like me can buy them without ending up with some weird junk? Even if they’re a bit pricey, having proper standards makes it way easier and saves me from getting lost :sparkles:
